Usage Tracking: How Sevan Tracks Information

Posted on January 18, 2018 by Iian Kehn

So this is a topic I wanted to spend a little bit of time talking about, because it was something I've been meaning to do for a little bit now, but never got around to it.

For those of you who use 'Do Not Track' tools, this post isn't really for you, and I'm not going to force you to not use those tools, it's a way of life. I, personally use them myself.

Like any website, Sevan tracks basic information about your system, including, but not limited to the following: IP Address, Country of Origin, Operating System Version, Link References (where you came from, eg, Facebook) and other relevant analytical data.

The information collected by Google Analytics is used for the sole purpose of identifying demographics, this information is not in any way, shape or form shared with anyone. The information collected is used only to get a basic idea of who I am catering to.

Should you choose not to allow Sevan (or its partners) to collect this information, you are free, and encouraged to use tools (like Ghostery) to block tracking data. I will not force anyone to do anything they do not want. That has always been my montra, and will continue to be so, until this site ceases to exist.

While we're on the subject of tracking, I would also like to note that I will never serve ads on this website, it is unprofessional, and it is a security risk. I make money through other sources, and I will continue to do so.

Thank you all for your cooperation, and I hope that clears everything up!
